THE BIG RED BITE IS STILL ON

The big red snapper are still plentiful (even though there not supposed to be) and biting good. I made a couple of trips out since the last update and thought I would put some photo's on the web. The first trip, bottom three photo's was a trip with my uncle Bobby, Jack Sisk, and Michael Messer. We made a forty mile run and enjoyed some of if not the best fishing I ever been a part of. Man it wore us out. Big snapper and aj's plus a few gags, but the bite was one that would amaze you.
The top photos was taken aboard Kenny Jones new boat. A 35' everglades with three 350 v-8 four strokes on the Stearn, nothing but power. One word to describe this boat "awesome". We had eight people on board, my wife Sharon, our daughter Sheena, Kenny, his wife Lila, Kenny's three son's Cade (my son-in-law to be), Blake and Blair. We limited out on snapper and aj's on the first stop. Big snapper and aj's which had everyone sweating and having fun. We was going to stop off at one of Kenny's good grouper holes but everyone was give out from fighting those big strong fish. Blair also landed a three hundred plus pound Goliath grouper which put him down in the back, and ended his fishing for the day.
Anyway the fish are biting good so load up and head on down to Carrabelle Fl for some of the best fishing around. Stop by the Hometown BP & Deli for all your fishing needs. We open at 5:30 in the morning with fresh breakfast sandwiches ready to roll. Stop by and pay us a visit.
Good luck and good fishing,

Red Snapper, it's that time of the year again

It's been quite a while since I updated. Busy time of the year. Folks have been catching lots of fish. Inshore and offshore fishing has been great this year. The bay is full of big bull reds and trout. The offshore fishing is great, with many red snapper being caught.

Captain Freddy and I made a trip Monday with good friends Ted, Steve and George on opening day of red snapper season. We made two stops, one to fight AJ's, the next was on my best snapper reading. We dropped down and it was on. Big snapper, drags slipping sweat flowing and having fun. We managed to land ten of those big boys plus several nice grouper and a 34" AJ and headed for home, give out but all wearing a smile. This day it happened like you pray it will. I'll only hit this spot one or two more times then wait a year to do it again. To give you an idea on how big these fish was the gag grouper on the top row with the snapper was a little over 23".

Anyway the fishing is great so load up and head down to Carrabelle Fl and enjoy some of the best fishing available to man, Stop by the Hometown BP and Deli for all your shopping and fishing needs and advice on where to catch them. I house the best bait in town.

Good luck and good fishing,

IT'S NOT LONG NOW

Hey gang, its that time of year again. The big fish are just waiting to bow our rods and I'm ready to help them out. It seems like its been for ever since I've been out on the big lake, but I'm ready. The opening is this Wed April the 1st. Just a few days off. I will be selling Pin Fish on the water this year. We will be located between the last boat ramp and the mouth of the Carrabelle river. I will still stock Pin Fish at the Hometown BP for a while but hope to move all live bait business on the water. I have plenty of froze bait on hand to start the season so stop by the store while you're in Carrabelle and visit a while. We have bait, tackle, gas, great food, snacks, beverages of all types and much more so stop by the Hometown BP & Deli for all your needs, and the friendliest service around, not to mention very clean bathrooms. So stop by "HOMETOWN BP & DELI YOUR ONE STOP SHOP".

Good luck and good fishing

"CADE"
The above pictures were taken on our last trip. Cade Jones, my son in law to be and two of his friends, Chris and Kevin drove down last Tuesday and joined Capt. Freddy and I for some winter fun. Big gags in close and ready to fight. We returned with eleven gags and a couple of black snapper. We also caught numerous red snapper and short grouper but the bite was not as good as my last few trips, but we had fun. Live pinfish proving to be the best bait but a few of them hit cut bait. I have had numerous reports on fishermen doing quite well lately. Fishing from thirty to seventy plus feet reports are good. So load up and head on down to Carrabelle Fl for some great fishing. Stop by the local Hometown BP and Deli for all your fishing needs; bait, tackle, food, drink, snacks, gas and more. Sit down, eat a lot, tell lies and then go fish.
Good luck and good fishing,
